about

The Night Palace Riddim was written on DJ Moocha's first visit to Uganda in 2018, created as a vehicle that could complement the various styles of MCs and singers from around the region. Embedded in the track are tributes to Moocha's DJ style, incorporating elements of Jungle and Hip Hop. Night Palace became a popular riddim at live shows in Kampala which many artists jumped on. This is part one of six versions of the riddim, which will be release over 2021. Moocha is a resident DJ at London's longest-running pirate station Kool London, guaranteeing a cult UK audience for his productions via his fortnightly shows.
Shoeshine Bwoy is a youth leader from Mathare, one of the biggest informal settlements in Nairobi, Kenya. A devout Christian and veteran rapper, he regularly performs live shows in Nairobi's prisons. Despite performing and recording for many years, this is his first properly distributed release. He has performed at some of the region's most prestigious festivals, including Nyege Nyege and Kilifi New Year.
