The 10th release from the Programmed Cell Death label is the LALA SALAMA EP from KEYA NEMESIS.
Advance singles for the LALA SALAMA EP include: the menacing political Hip Hop of GRABBA MAN (9th July); and the darkside Experimental Drum & Bass / Hip Hop fusion of BUJAGALI (30th July).
Produced by label boss DJ MOOCHA; 2 of the tracks (LALA SALAMA and BUJAGALI) were co-produced and mixed by one of the most celebrated talents in underground UK Electronic music, KEITH TENNISWOOD. Along with the late great ANDY WEATHERALL, Keith was one half of TWO LONE SWORDSMEN, as well releasing a number of legendary vinyl releases under the moniker RADIOACTIVE MAN. He co-produced DAVID HOLMES’ album Let's Get Killed (1997), and has produced for big names like THE ALOOF, RED SNAPPER, DEATH IN VEGAS and PRIMAL SCREAM.
MOOCHA is a veteran of the UK Jungle / Drum & Bass scene, active as a DJ since the mid-90s, and now resident on Kool London, the nation’s longest running pirate radio station. He has been producing for around ten years and now runs Ugandan-British label Programmed Cell Death. His last videos were selected for premieres by top YouTubers Reggaeville (1.4 million subscribers). His 2020 Dancehall/Bass banger GOT YOUR ROLEX featured on Apple Music's Sho't Left playlist and YouTube’s Discover Uganda. VERY FAKE was widely playlisted on Ugandan radio and was playlisted on Apple Music's African Hip Hop.
KEYA NEMESIS is the former battle rap champion of Uganda, being named twice by MTV Base as one of the Top Ten African Rappers (2016 & 2017). He has had local hits with the Nyege Nyege Remix and his 2020 “Bad Intentions” series, which saw several playlist placements, including: EVOL on 2 Apple Music playlists - Hot Tracks and African Hip Hop; F**K THE 1%, KIKOLE, EVOL, HEART on YouTube Music playlists - Fresh From Africa and Discover Uganda.
