“Live Good” is a Ugandan Roots Reggae anthem by C WYNE NALUKALALA produced by DJ MOOCHA (UK) . An upfull call for the youth to lead a positive life and follow a righteous calling. The track is an infectious hybrid of roots and digital styles, with a nod to Drum and Bass. Track 2 is a stripped down live dub version. The video was shot in and around Roots Yard in Kampala; a rasta commune which run a variety of upcycling art projects.
C WYNE NALUKALALA (meaning “troublemaker”) is a veteran of the Ugandan dancehall scene with a growing international profile thanks to collaborations with Mungo’s HiFi (“Ease Up The Pressure” on Scotch Bonnet Records, 2019).
His political anthem “Free Bobi Wine” was played on multiple Ugandan national radio stations, and was synced to a forthcoming UK documentary on Bobi Wine.
2020 Covid 19 anthem “Kawumpuli” (meaning pestilence in Luganda) was playlisted on Ugandan and Kenyan national radio, was synced to Distant Relatives (Kenya) fundraising campaign, and selected by Germany’s Byte FM in their July 2020 feature on African Reggae.
2021 saw the release of “Ghetto Youth Never Give Up” a collaboration with Germany’s Ancient Astronauts.
A veteran of the UK’s underground scene; DJ Moocha has been performing across Europe since the mid 90s, with his uncompromising selection of Jungle, Dub and Hip Hop. Programmed Cell Death has featured a variety of groundbreaking collaborations over the past year, recorded at East African Records studios in Kampala.
