• BLESSED SAN is a singer-rapper from eastern Uganda. This Hip Hop club anthem is his first collaboration with Programmed Cell Death and is the lead single for Blessed’s debut album ANIMAL FARM (release July 2020).
• Got Your Rolex is a cheeky refix of the famous anthem “Baby I Got Your Money” by Old Dirty Bastard, paying tribute to Uganda’s most famous street food - the Rolex, an omelette rolled up inside a chapati.
• The video was shot on location in a market in downtown Kampala, showing real Rolex vendors preparing the nation’s favourite snack.
• Programmed Cell Death is a UK-Ugandan label established by DJ MOOCHA, resident of the UK’s longest-running and most prestigious pirate radio, Kool London.
• Blessed San has a growing international following: Traitor (2019) vinyl release on the Scotch Bonnet (UK) label of Mungo’s HiFi (370,000 monthly Spotify listeners), featured in the Arts Desk’s vinyl review; Nyingi Ngai (2017) featured on Germany’s largest reggae forum, Reggaeville (1.2 million YT subscribers); and Mash Down Babylon (2017) with Germany’s Ancient Astronauts (120,000 monthly on Spotify).
